Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC)

Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC) also known as Majlis Perancangan Tenaga Manusia dan Pekerjaan (MPTMP) is a council under the Prime Minister's Office that was established in November 2019 as per consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

  • OBJECTIVE
The objective of the council is to address unemployment related issues, effectively and efficiently. This includes constant collaborations with industries and education and training institution in increasing the employability of Bruneians.
  • VISION
The vision of the council is to ensure effective manpower planning with alignment to employability and employment.

Policy Formulation & Evaluation
To develop and assess policies, frameworks, and guidelines related to national manpower
Strategic Planning & Monitoring
To establish, evaluate, and monitor manpower development action plans and initiatives, including the National Manpower Blueprint
Program Impact Assessment
To measure the effectiveness of manpower development programmes under the Manpower and Employment Council (MPEC)
Applied Research
To conduct comprehensive studies and research related to manpower and workforce planning.
Strategic Partnerships
To collaborate with local and international stakeholders to ensure manpower planning remains effective, relevant, and aligned with current economic and market requirements
